It’s fire within but we do not burn.

These feelings storm through my heart then, and then now.

It’s hard to breathe and we do not speak.

-

Lost and found, in this presence, your energy.

I run, forget, disbelieve, believe me.

But all I find everywhere I turn is the ethereal you.

-

If only I found you.

3. Vanilla

You’re the reason I don’t fancy this flavour anymore.

It used to be my favourite. Simple, with nuances of flavour you can’t put your tongue to.

Our talks felt real, deep.

But you’ve burrowed somewhere.

You’re surprisingly a reader, and I liked that about you.

Just that.

2. Hey.

-

Do you remember the moon and the stars from where we sat?

The breeze in my crazy hair. In your neat, perfect hair.

All, those, nights.

-

You liked my poems. You didn’t like too many rhymes.

I didn’t know you could feel electricity in the air and not die.

-

I’m a candle, and you’re the oxygen keeping me alive, burning.

-

My mind burns with constant thoughts of you.

My heart sears from not being with you.

-

Do you still read?

What are the chances you will be reading this?
